You have been noticing things like people looking down at their smartphones and tablets. Yes, the game has changed in Atlanta search marketing. The days of radio, billboard and even TV ads are dwindling. TV is for the big boys with the big time marketing budgets. You are just a small business that does not have the money for the big marketing team nor the time to do it on your own. Yes, it takes time and/or money to be in the marketing space but if you want to grow your business, you must do one of the two.
Most companies we deal with are willing to put some time into marketing because most business owners understand what their customers want. They should if they have been in business for a while. Here are 3 Steps to getting started if you are in the boat described above:
1. Go Inbound Marketing vs. Outbound.
Inbound is attraction of your business like a magnet reeling them in. This will give you your biggest bang for your buck and if done right with an online presence, will give you a long term annuity that never quits supplying your company with leads. You see, a well written blog or useful call to action that offers your client what they need, will be worth its weight in gold.
2. Become a Writer or Smartly Pay to have it Written.
I was a small business just like you and I was able to spend the time writing blogs. To me it was fun but not all business owners have that luxury. Most, we find, have enough on their plate so we recommend having highly optimized blogs written for you. This will get you on the Google radar so you can be found. It will be the best ad dollars you ever spent.
3. Build Relationships with your visitors.
This is the latest in website technology. Offer your visitors something useful or fun or engaging. Look at Cedar Creek Cabins or Cooper music or The Paint Doctor to see what that looks like. In order for you to build rapport, there must be engagement buttons or calls to action.
If you read this and say "Wow, that seems like work!", you are right on. No one said this work was easy. Google knows this but the work you put in will get you results. You will be building useful, relevant and engaging content which is what all search engines are after.
Be prepared though, as this will not give you immediate results. This is a long term effort and one that gets your competitors scratching their proverbial websites.
